The Tampa Calendar is a local events discovery platform for Downtown Tampa and the greater Tampa Bay area. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We are committed to being transparent — we collect only what is necessary to provide our service and do not sell your information to anyone.

Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways — information you provide directly, and information collected automatically.

Information you provide

If you create an account by signing in with Google, we receive and store the following from Google:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your profile photo (if you have one set in Google)

If you choose to complete your profile, you may also provide:

• Your neighborhood
• Your ZIP code
• Your event interest categories
• Events you choose to save

All of this information is optional. You can use The Tampa Calendar without creating an account.

Newsletter signup

If you sign up for our email newsletter, we collect your email addressso we can send you a periodic roundup of Tampa Bay events. This does not require an account. We use your email only to send the updates you asked for — we never sell it or share it for others’ marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Information collected automatically

• Basic server logs including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited — collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and performance purposes
• Privacy-friendly, aggregate usage analytics via Vercel Web Analytics — this measures page views in anonymized, aggregate form. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect or store any information that identifies you personally
• Session cookies necessary to keep you signed in if you create an account

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To save your event preferences and bookmarks
• To personalize event recommendations based on your interests and location
• To send you our email newsletter, if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To operate, maintain, and secure the website
• We do not use your information for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes

Third-Party Services

The Tampa Calendar uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — stores your account information, profile data, and saved events securely. Data is stored in the United States. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy
• Google — if you sign in with Google, Google's privacy policy governs how Google handles your information before passing it to us. Their privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy
• Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly, cookieless usage analytics (Web Analytics, in anonymized aggregate). Their privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Mapbox — interactive map display. When you use the map view, your browser connects to Mapbox servers. Their privacy policy is available at mapbox.com/legal/privacy
• Airtable — event catalog storage (backend only, not user-facing). Their privacy policy is available at airtable.com/privacy
• Ticketmaster / Eventbrite — some event links direct to these platforms for ticketing. Their respective privacy policies apply when you visit their sites

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. If you would like to delete your account, unsubscribe, or remove any associated data, please contact us at the email below and we will process your request promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Use The Tampa Calendar without creating an account

Future Changes

As The Tampa Calendar grows, we may introduce additional features that affect how we collect or use data. This Privacy Policy will be updated before any such changes take effect, and the date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
