Formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1974, 38 Special rose to prominence by blending Southern rock grit with hook driven arena rock, creating a sound that dominated radio throughout the late ’70s and ’80s. Hailing from Spartanburg, South Carolina, The Marshall Tucker Band helped define Southern rock in the early 1970s with a distinctive sound that blended rock, country, jazz, and blues. Best known for classics such as Can’t You See, Heard It in a Love Song, and Fire on the Mountain, the band stood out for its use of flute, soulful songwriting, and extended instrumental jams. Don Felder is a true 21st century renaissance man for all seasons. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is probably most known for his contributions as an Eagles lead guitarist, cowriting and performing the memorable solo on the band’s Hotel California with Joe Walsh, while contributing songs such as Vision (where he sang lead vocals) on One of These Nights in addition to earning writing credits on Victim of Love and Those Shoes from Hotel California.
